Our Team

Cynthia Hyde
Director

Cynthia is a teacher who has worked extensively in the field of Special Education. She has over ten years experience working with children and teens, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Foetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorder, developmental delay and intellectual disability. When working with children, she believes that relationships come first, followed by engagement and motivation, backed by sound learning principles based on individual needs.

Cynthia has a special interest in the areas of emotional regulation and sensory integration to support learning. She has further training in sensory integration through heavy work programs and ‘sensory diets' and sensory regulation for learning through the Zones of Learning program. Other skills include Rebound Therapy (an innovative trampolining program), creative writing (she is being mentored by award winning Australian author, Jackie French), and she is also a qualified librarian, passionate about connecting children with books. A committed lifelong learner, she is currently studying a Diploma of Counselling and Master of Speech Pathology. 

Cynthia lives with her husband, son (9yrs), two cats, and a boisterous brown lab called Tim Tam.

Anna Noon
Program Co-ordinator

Anna is a qualified Social Worker who has worked with families in both Australia and the United States for over 10 years. Anna has experience in providing tailored interventions and groupwork programs for children and their families, including those with disabilities. In addition, she has a wealth of experience in program development and service management.

Anna is passionate about identifying children’s strengths and celebrating their uniqueness. She recognises the importance of taking a “whole of family” approach to her practice. Anna is committed to providing services that focus on recognising client and family strengths, helping to identify and set goals and celebrating individual’s successes.

Anna is excited about the positive work Social Skills Superheroes provides in building children’s social competence in a relaxed and fun environment.  

Anna lives with her husband, son (9yrs), daughter (6yrs) and 2 aging beagles on the shores of Lake Macquarie.
